Clachan Garden is located 5 minutes from the route of the NC500 at the head of Lochbroom with open views of the Loch and the surrounding mountainous wooded landscape within easy reach of the Beinn Dearg range of Munros, The Fannichs and An Teallach is only a short drive away; Ullapool itself, and its many facilities, is a mere 10 minute drive. The house stands in a walled garden extending to one acre and given over, in large part to vegetable, soft and hard fruit growing which along with the eggs from our own hens contribute substantially to the food we serve in the morning but more especially our evening meals.
We have spent the last two years refurbishing what is only a twenty year old house to create a luxurious boutique ambience and little expense has been spared on the fittings and their installation so that when you visit our home we hope that you will experience a level of style and comfort that will enhance your stay with us, however long or short.
Beyond the beauty of the surrounding landscape and the quality of the interior we offer a level of service, should you desire it, where your every need will be attended to if that can possibly be achieved. We are at your service.
As well as the natural produce from our garden, we bake our own bread and patisserie and make our own gelato. We use only the finest ingredients that we are able to source in our meals using local produce where possible. In addition to your room you will have access to one or two living rooms (depending on the nature of your stay) both equipped with large TV’s and high quality sound systems. There is, in addition, a substantial and eclectic library of some 6000 volumes and access to a sound proofed music studio on site (along with its musical instruments and equipment) can be offered to visiting musicians.
Finally there are a number of less arduous walks in the immediate vicinity, without the need for a car and it may be possible to hire mountain bikes directly from us for adventuring a little further afield.
For the new season (beginning in our case in May 2023) we should be able to offer a purpose built dining facility (guests only) in a beautiful new conservatory and seating out doors should the weather and midge population permit.
